We’re seeking an Associate Director or Director with proven line management experience of Epidemiologists, along with strong commercial acumen and client facing skills.

In this role you will be the project lead on client facing and internal projects, you will independently generate content and direction for business development proposals, and will be involved with bid defense processes. You’ll identify client-related, budget-related, and internal issues that may require escalation. You will use your critical thinking skills to author protocols, reports, and other study documents, ensuring quality of output, and overseeing timelines for deliverables associated with study reporting . You will also provide epidemiological and outcomes research input into statistical analysis plans and analysis output.

Management of team members will also be an important part of this role, as you will be responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development of team members; helping the department achieve its goals. We’ll be looking to you to drive performance improvement, and ensure that ‘best practice’ standards are achieved at all times. 

Fundamentally you’ll need to have experience of the design, planning and conducting of observational studies, of comparative effectiveness, safety and cost.  You’ll need significant ( 12 + years) of relevant epidemiological experience, alongside a higher level degree in public health, epidemiology, outcomes research, health economics or a relevant scientific field.

You’ll also have:

• Previous line management experience, with a record of managing and supporting the development of your direct reports.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.

• The ability to quickly establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients in a global and matrixed environment.

• An ability to work to multiple deadlines, and prioritize work as needed.
